Awards – Roz Urbahn of LIC crowned at 2021 HRD Awards New Zealand

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND (12 April, 2021) – New-Zealand based HR professional Roz Urbahn of Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) has been named NZ HR Director of the Year at the 2021 HRD Awards New Zealand. The awards recognises the outstanding achievements of HR professionals and organisations across the nation.  

“It has certainly been a challenging year – and yet the best and brightest in HR have stepped up and put their people first at a time when it mattered most,” says the HRD team. “Whether on an individual or organisational basis, we’re proud to celebrate their achievements and recognise their excellence, innovation and leadership.”

Roz Urbahn received the award for NZ HR Director of the Year.

Roz leads the LIC people agenda with an inspiring and determined approach. She has built an excellent team around her who are well recognised both internally and externally for the work that they deliver. In the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic the LIC team was able to quickly adapt in part because of the excellent solutions created by Roz and the team. Her strong and proactive leadership during and post COVID directly resulted in the business delivering to both strategy and supporting performance targets.    

She has led significant changes with her team over the past 12 months at LIC from implementing flexible work practices, creating leadership development programmes and delivering an ever-growing wellbeing programme. As well as this, she was named by HRD as one of New Zealand’s top HR professionals of 2020, named by HRD as one of six HR leaders in 2020 driving cultural and digital transformation by ‘turbocharging’ their people strategy and was the Winner of both the 2020 HRNZ Organisational Change & Development Award and the 2020 HRNZ Best Wellness Programme Award.  

A sought-after speaker in the HR sector, Roz has addressed a large variety of forums and enjoys sharing her passion of empowering, enabling and boosting people to achieve the success they deserve.
