Key facts

The 6-day series includes jobs with a pay
period equal to or less than 7 days, while the 20-day series covers jobs
with pay periods of 14 days or fewer. The 34-day series includes all jobs
regardless of their pay period.

The 34-day series indicated that for the
latest week, the week ended 21 February 2021:

  • the number of paid jobs (compared with the
    previous week) were:
    • 2,240,340 total paid jobs (down 7,280 or
      0.32 percent)
    • 108,040 paid jobs in primary industries (down
      280 or 0.26 percent)
    • 427,090 paid jobs in goods-producing industries
      (down 730 or 0.17 percent)
    • 1,647,910 in services industries (down 7,290
      or 0.44 percent)
    • 57,300 in unclassified industries (up 1,020
      or 1.81 percent)
  • the median income (compared with the previous
    week) was:
    • $1,076.07 (down $2.67 or 0.25 percent).

at 15 March 2021 and as at 22 March 2021 have been included in this release.
