Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises road users will see a change to the lanes and road layout between Henderson Road (near the cemetery) and the State Highway 5/State Highway 36 roundabout from tomorrow (16 March).

Changes will be clearly signposted to ensure road users know where to go.

Waka Kotahi expects the changes to be in place for up to three weeks.

Motorists are asked to take care while driving through the site. A temporary speed limit of 30km/h will be in place to ensure safety of road users and road workers.

The SH5/SH36 slip lane remains closed to westbound (Tirau/Hamilton) traffic leaving Rotorua. All westbound traffic is using the existing roundabout for this turn. The slip lane will remain closed until the new roundabout is constructed.

Waka Kotahi thanks motorists for their patience during these important works.

Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey this summer. Keep up to date with:
