With the aim of supporting Bay of Plenty’s local logistics industry, Toi Ohomai is offering a version of its New Zealand Certificate in Distribution (Level 3) course, specifically to those already working in the industry.

The distribution cadetship is designed for students who have recently left school and are working, but are also looking for that qualification to help advance their career.

This new initiative will have its first cohort begin in February 2021, and will be taught out of the Toi Ohomai logistics training centre hub on Truman Lane in Tauranga. Topics the course covers includes distribution operations, inventory control and stock management, picking and dispatch and more.

Toi Ohomai Transport and Logistics Academic Leader Celine Verkuylen says this course is perfect for the next generation of young professionals, who are looking to grow their careers in the industry.

“Our new distribution cadetship is aimed at school leavers to under 25-year-olds. Providing flexible learning and the opportunity to earn while you study. With plenty of jobs available in the industry, it’s the perfect time to start the learning journey and support the local region.”

With state-of-the-art facilities at the logistics training centre and supportive tutors who have first-hand industry experience, students will be safe in the knowledge they’ll be getting a quality study experience.
