Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises there will be a partial road closure in place between Te Maunga intersection and Baypark roundabout for one night next week, as part of the Bay Link project.
From 7pm on Monday 21 December until 5am on Tuesday 22 December, temporary asphalting work will be undertaken on State Highway 29A on either side of the railway crossing, around the Baypark roundabout and on the SH29A approach to the roundabout.
The purpose of these works is to improve the road surface and drainage in the area.
While this work is underway there will be lane closures on SH29A and a road closure of the westbound lanes between the Te Maunga intersection and the Baypark roundabout. Motorists from State Highway 2 (northbound and southbound) will not be able to turn onto SH29A.
A detour will be available via the Sandhurst Drive/Mangatawa Interchange, Mangatawa Link Road and Truman Lane.
If you are travelling at these times, please drive with caution through the project site, reduce your speed and follow the directions provided on traffic management signage. Where possible, please use alternative routes or plan your travel around this partial road closure.
In the event of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the closure may be moved to the next suitable night.
