The Midnight Baker of Dominion Road took out the Supreme Award at the Albert-Eden Business Awards 2020 gala dinner on 10 November.

The judges commented on the high standard of all the competing businesses across categories and how hard that made their jobs.

Ellipse Beauty & Medi Spa took out the People’s Choice Award. The range of businesses from nomination to the awards night shows the sheer choice that shoppers from the local area and those living further afield have in the Albert-Eden area.

“I’m impressed by our local businesses, their excellence in service and their commitment to quality, resulting in lasting relationships with their customers,” said Albert-Eden Local Board Chair Margi Watson. “Our local businesses are inspiring as is their resilience in what has been a difficult year.”

She thanked everyone involved in making the Awards and the evening such a success.

“We, as a board, support our local businesses in every way we can, from financial support for business associations through to providing some COVID-19 recovery support and the mentoring new and sustainable businesses.

“We’re pleased that the awards highlight the achievements of our local economy, celebrate excellence and show why our local area is a great place to be. Every day can be a shop local, support local, opportunity”
