The left-turn slip lane from Te Ngae Road into Sala Street will be closed from Monday 2 November until approximately Friday 4 December as part of the Eastern Corridor Stage One works on SH30/Te Ngae Road.
Left turn access at the intersection will be restricted to light vehicles only during this time.
Heavy vehicles will need to use the approved detour via SH30A/SH5. The detour route will add approximately 7-10 minutes to a journey.
The closure will allow contractors to upgrade the existing slip lane and complete necessary work for the overall intersection upgrade.
Contractors continue to work on the new city-bound slip lane on Sala Street at the intersection. Northbound traffic on Sala Street is down to one lane.
The intersection upgrade is expected to be complete before Christmas.
Waka Kotahi asks motorists to take extra care when travelling through the intersection and thanks everyone for their patience.
