The Treasury announces the launch of a new 0.25% coupon 15 May 2028 nominal bond. Given the timing of the launch, the Treasury also announces the cancellation of the tender scheduled for 29 October 2020, which included the 15 April 2023, 20 April 2029, and the 14 April 2033 nominal bonds.

The Treasury expects to issue at least NZ$2.0 billion of the 15 May 2028 nominal bond and the transaction will be capped at NZ$4.0 billion. Initial price guidance is 13 to 17 basis points over the 15 April 2027 nominal bond.

The issue will be priced on Wednesday 28 October 2020, and further issuance of the new bond will not occur prior to January 2021.

ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited; Bank of New Zealand; UBS AG, Australia; and Westpac Banking Corporation, New Zealand; are Joint-Lead Managers for the issue.
