We’re now taking applications for volunteer camp hosts in South Marlborough, between October and April.  This is a great opportunity to stay for free at some of our most popular camp sites, in return for a few hours work each day.

Summer holidays! Warmer weather! Amazing landscapes! What more could you want?

Marlborough has excellent beaches, native forests and picturesque campgrounds. Opportunities for volunteers in these amazing areas may well quench desires for fresh air and scenery.

Amazing scenery!

Volunteer camp host spaces are available (1 – 16 weeks), throughout South Marlborough, from 22nd October to 11th April.  Locations include: Rarangi Beach, Onamalutu Reserve and Molesworth Recreation Reserve.

If you fancy sea views, peace and quiet and enjoy time in a tent or your caravan, then Rarangi is the place for you.  If you enjoy open spaces, native bush and birdsong Onamalutu has it all. The Cob and Acheron Cottages at Molesworth Station is for those with a hankering for the back country away from cell phones and shops.

Tranquil places

Grab a fantastic opportunity to stay for free in return for a few hours work.  Typical camp host duties include encouraging campers to pay their fees, cleaning facilities, passing on information to visitors and liaising with DOC staff.  These positions suit those who enjoy meeting new people, are practical and self reliant and have a love for our conservation areas.

For more information the DOC website is a great place to start and has a lot more detail about each camp host opportunity.
