A new temporary signalised intersection at the Te Maunga junction of State Highway 2 and State Highway 29A was scheduled to be operational from this morning (Sunday 27 September). Due to unforeseen circumstances the opening of the new intersection has been delayed temporarily.

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises SH29A remains closed between the Te Maunga and Baypark roundabouts.

Detours are in place along Truman Lane, Mangatawa Link Road and Sandhurst Drive/Mangatawa Interchange while preparatory works for the new intersection are underway.

Please take extra care, reduce your speed and follow directions of traffic management staff and signage.

Motorists are encouraged to visit journeys.nzta.govt.nz(external link) for up to date information on road works, traffic, detours and delays.
