Road closures commence tonight on State Highway 29A between the Te Maunga and Baypark roundabouts.

These closures are required for preparatory works for the construction of a new temporary signalised intersection at Te Maunga, where State Highway 2 and SH29A meet.

Closures will be in place on SH29A between the Te Maunga and Baypark roundabouts from 8pm to 5am, begining tonight, Monday 21 September, and finishing 5am on Thursday 24 September. This will be followed by another closure from 8pm Friday 25 September, right through until 9am Sunday 27 September.

Detours will be in place along Truman Lane, Mangatawa Link Road and Sandhurst Drive/Mangatawa Interchange.

If you are travelling at these times please take extra care, reduce your speed and follow directions of traffic management staff and signage. Where possible, please use alternative routes or plan your travel around these road closures.

In the event of unsuitable weather or other unforeseen circumstances, work will be carried out on the next suitable night/s. Motorists are encouraged to visit journeys.nzta.govt.nz(external link) for up to date information on road works, traffic, detours and delays.

Waka Kotahi thanks road users and local residents for their patience.
