Biodiversity walk
Come along to a biodiversity walk led by Claire Ellis on Tuesday 22 September, 12pm to 1pm. Claire – an AUT graduate – will walk you through the South Campus where you’ll learn about the range of native trees and plants on campus and how they support biodiversity. This workshop is free for all AUT staff and students. The walk will begin from outside the MA Library entrance. Numbers are restricted, so please email sustainability@aut.ac.nz to register.
Try an e bike

Bike maintenance
Free bike maintenance workshops are offered to staff and students to learn basic bike maintenance skills about keeping your bike in good condition and refresh knowledge on how to fix a puncture. Bring your bike or drop in and ask the bike mechanic questions. A limited number of backpack covers, emergency bike lights and puncture repair kits will be available for those who drop in. The bike maintenance workshops will be at the City Campus in Hikuwai Plaza on:

Bee Aware Month
Finally, it is Bee Aware Month this September where people are encouraged to learn about bees and do something tangible to support bees, including planting native plants, fruit trees and vegetables for the betterment of yourself, as well as bees – forever an essential worker.
