Following the Prime Minister’s announcement this morning that the 2020 general election has been postponed, publication of the Pre-Election Economic and Fiscal Update (PREFU) 2020 has been delayed.
The Minister of Finance announced this afternoon that the 2020 PREFU will now be published on 16 September.
Arrangements for a rescheduled restricted briefing on the PREFU will be communicated to media and analysts once finalised.
Note: Under the Public Finance Act, the PREFU must be published between 20 and 30 working days before the general election. With an election date of 17 October, PREFU is required to be published between 7 and 21 September 2020.
