The Board of NorthTec advises that Jon Smith, current Deputy Chief Executive and Product, Delivery and International Director at North Tec has been appointed as the Acting Chief Executive until the Board appoints a permanent Chief Executive. His appointment is effective 24 July 2020.
The Board has agreed with the outgoing Acting Chief Executive, Wayne Jackson to an earlier release date, than 21 August to allow for an easier transition to his new role.
Jon has been at NorthTec for just over six years undertaking a range of leadership roles across the organisation in a number of directorates. Jon has executed key improvement changes.
He is currently a member of SLT accountable for strategic leadership of Product Delivery and International directorates. Jon chairs the NorthTec Academic Committee of the IST.
The Board are confident that the NorthTec management team will continue the momentum and alignment with key RoVE objectives, the NZIST Charter and Letter of Expectations.
The Board had already begun planning for the appointment of a permanent CE and that process will continue.
