As a Te Tai Tokerau local the accessibility of NorthTec’s Applied Writing programmes was a huge motivation in Carr’s decision to study here.

“Having local opportunities for writers to study and support one another is invaluable,” Carr says on her time at NorthTec.

With NorthTec, Carr was able to develop her writing skills and gain confidence in her ability to write while meeting other like-minded students.

“NorthTec was critical in helping me understand how to get a book from being just a manuscript to getting it published” Carr says.
