The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) promised to ensure that no one is left behind by progress and that those who are left farthest behind are reached first. To fulfil the ground-breaking pledge to Leave No One Behind, it is necessary to know who the furthest behind are, monitor their progress, and build public and political understanding about the importance of reaching them.

Navigate the below data visualisation to understand the inequalities that still persist for key SDG indicators between different groups of children, both within and across countries.

These data tools are based on Save the Children’s Group-based Inequality Database (GRID). This database brings together disaggregated data for key SDG indicators related to children’s wellbeing, including for child survival and nutrition, child protection, and education. The database contains data processed from over 400 household surveys and other sources. Data on education comes from UNESCO’s World Inequality Database on Education and nutrition data from the Joint Malnutrition Estimates. For more information see the methodological note. If you have feedback on the revised version of this tool please email grid@savethechildren.org.
