After Reaching Over 370,000 Fans on Their First Ever Virtual Tour of North America
AUCKLAND, NZ (April 17, 2020) – Hailing from Byron Bay, Australia, THE BUCKLEYS launched their first North American Virtual Tour, presented by Live Nation on Saturday, April 4 and reached over 370,000 fans over four “virtual tour dates.”
The Buckleys have today announced they’ll be taking their virtual tour to South America, Europe, The Middle East and Asia crisscrossing the globe with their final show streaming across Australia and New Zealand… all done from their living room in Byron Bay.

Adapting his longtime experience launching tours, albums, and films to The Buckleys Virtual Tour, Petrol Records head, CM Murphy worked in conjunction with their U.S. label, UMe, and Live Nation, for The Buckleys first “virtual tour.” Hitting nearly every region of North America including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, and Toronto, The Buckleys recreated the personalized “live” experience during this time of social distancing and garnered an audience over 370,000.

The North American leg saw the band perform four different sets for each of the four different tour dates through Live Nation’s newly launched Live From Home platform which also streamed across Live Nation and House of Blues’ regional social media channels, and was made available on the band’s YouTube channel post livestream.

“This Virtual Tour introduced The Buckleys to North America and they won the hearts of fans from Los Angeles to New York, Toronto to Washington.  Live Nation and UMe have been incredible partners and they know how important it is to give artists a chance to play and audiences a chance to discover, especially during this incredibly difficult time in the world where music remains a vital part in connecting people,” says CM Murphy, Petrol Records founder & Chairman.

Now planning on reaching an even larger global audience the band is planning six different sets for the six different regions, all streamed through Live Nation’s local affiliates in each of the participating countries.

The Buckleys are only the second signing to Petrol Records since CM Murphy signed award-winning siblings and band of brothers, INXS in 2009. A three-piece band of siblings (Sarah 20, Lachlan 18 and Molly 17 years of age), The Buckleys worked since they were young children towards their dream of a record deal, the release of their first album and tour and had scheduled the release of their single “Money” on March 13 and their first tour to kick off in April.

The single “Money” (Petrol Records/Universal Music Australia/UMe) is The Buckleys first worldwide release and embodies the band’s brand of “Hippie Country” – a genre representing the infectious personality and spirited conscience that the band maintains through these tough times. The track with its “infectious, feel-good hooks” (Guitar World) was written by Sarah Buckley who wrote with multi-platinum songwriters Phil Barton (Lee Brice/A Woman Like You) and Dave Thomson (Lady Antebellum/747) during her time in Nashville.

Since signing with CM Murphy’s Petrol Records in 2019, the band has released two singles in Australia. The first “Daydream” catapulted the trio into the limelight, scoring a #1 single at Australian country radio, followed by second single, “I’m Comin’ For Ya (Love),” which reached #3.
