Major delays on SH29 and SH2

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is urging motorists to avoid travel in the area if possible, as the combination of evening peak traffic and continued southbound closures on State Highway 2 is causing significant delays on both SH2 and SH29.

SH2 remains closed southbound between Waihi Road off-ramp and Takatimu Drive this morning, following a fatal Police firearms incident last night. Motorists are advised to consider alternate routes if possible.
