This Thursday, Fire and Emergency New Zealand’s newest group of recruits will celebrate their graduation from their 12-week career firefighter training course at our National Training Centre in Rotorua.
The course includes training in Urban Search and Rescue, Hose, Breathing Apparatus, Rural, Live Fire, Community Education, and Motor Vehicle Extraction.
The graduation is Thursday 12 December from 1:45pm – 3:45pm. In the ceremony, the 23 recruits will perform several simulated exercises to demonstrate skills they learned on the course. These will include a motor vehicle accident extraction, a fire in a service station and a fire in a high-rise building. They will also be presented with their operational helmets and the top recruit award will be announced.
