Dear [Name redacted]

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Thank you for your request for information dated 28 November 2018 under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA).

You asked for information on the supply of benzathine penicillin G (BPG) in New Zealand over the last 20 years, specifically about any shortages that New Zealand may have had.

We have searched our supply reports and document storage database and have not found any records of shortages of BPG.

Please note PHARMAC is the government agency responsible for deciding which pharmaceuticals are publicly funded for use in New Zealand. As such, we can only comment on the funded supply of BPG.

We trust that the provision of this information answers your query, if you have any further questions please feel free to contact us again.

Yours sincerely
