Genesis is powering ahead in developing services to help customers predict, monitor and control their energy use, joining forces with DETA Consulting Limited to offer energy audits and optimisation to the commercial and industrial sectors.
Genesis Executive General Manager of Customer and Innovation, James Magill says, “We have already had significant interest in this service because it gives customers an actionable plan to increase their productivity. We are really pleased to be working closely with DETA – an innovative and dynamic New Zealand company.”
DETA were selected by Genesis because of their extensive experience, having successfully delivered energy projects across multiple industries, advising dairy, meat, wood and vegetable processing sites and the hospitality sector on energy management options.
DETA Managing Director Jonathan Pooch says the company are excited to be working with Genesis, “We’re delighted to be able to help Genesis customers and provide advice around how they can harness greater value from their energy spend.”
“Energy audits are a key tool to help companies develop a road map for greater energy productivity and carbon emissions reduction. Some of our recent audit projects have identified cost effective savings of well over 20 per cent. The audits will align perfectly with Genesis’ existing monitoring products and lead to energy saving projects such as building and lighting management systems, HVAC upgrades, heat recovery and Power Factor correction,” says Jonathan.
Energy audits are just one of the many ways Genesis is providing value to its business customers through energy management services. Last year Genesis launched Electricity Insights to give businesses real time, circuit level energy consumption data and Bottled Gas Monitoring, a product that uses weigh scales to determine the volume of LPG left in a customers’ tank.
“We know we can provide value to customers that goes far beyond supplying electricity, gas and LPG. That’s why we’re building a suite of energy management products that support the needs of businesses whether it’s a desire to reduce their carbon footprint or ultimately improve their bottom line, Genesis can help,” says James.
