Correction to Goods and services trade by country: Year ended June 2018

Stats NZ has corrected Goods and services trade by country: Year ended June 2018 and its related news story Visitors boost trade surplus.

The correction was a result of a processing error involving exports of travel services data.

The correction affected the June 2018 quarter data only.

Exports of other personal travel services in the year ended June 2018 was worth $10,188 million, not $10,634 million as published on 4 September 2018.

The impact of this correction can be seen in the following series:

  • total exports
  • total two-way trade
  • total trade balance
  • total exports by destination
  • total exports of services
  • exports of business and other personal travel
  • exports of other personal travel.

The correct data was used in the Balance of payments and international investment position: June 2018 quarter and Gross domestic product: June 2018 quarter, published on 19 September 2018 and 20 September 2018, respectively.
