The announcement of the new chief executive of the Māori Television Service should bring stability to the organisation said Minister for Māori Development Nanaia Mahuta today.
“The Māori Television board has appointed the acting Chief Executive Keith Ikin to the permanent position.
“Māori TV have moved successfully to its new premises and can now focus on its contribution to providing accessible platforms to produce quality reo content and programmes that will support the ambition of revitalising te reo Māori.
“The Boards consideration of this phase of development and the challenges of the current environment will have been a factor in the decision to appoint Mr Ikin. I wish him well in the new role,” says Nanaia Mahuta.
