Headline: Chris Barton's 'Speaking out about suicide' article and videos now online

Chris Barton’s career in journalism spans 27 years in magazines, newspapers and online, including 15 years at the New Zealand Herald.

As a senior feature writer at the Herald Chris first began writing about suicide and mental health care issues – topics he continues to write about as a freelance journalist.

He’s received numerous awards for his writing, including, in 2009, journalism’s top prize in New Zealand, the Wolfson Press Fellowship to Cambridge.

Chris’s media grant project is an investigative, feature length article published in the July 2014 issue of North & South magazine. This 12-page special report is called Speaking out about suicide.
