5AA Australia: Across The Ditch With Peter Godfrey & Selwyn Manning – Driving Dogs + Polls + Hobbit ReviewsA group of Kiwi dogs have been learning to drive: This is a novel idea by the SPCA and Mini designed to raise the plight of rescued dogs looking for families to adopt them. The SPCA says: “Every year, the SPCA need to find homes for hundreds of dogs like Porter – dogs who have been abused, abandoned, or just forgotten. They may be a motley bunch, but they’re all smart and they’re all lovable. So please don’t write them off. Adopt them. If we can teach one to drive, we think you’ll do just fine.” For more, see the SPCA Facebook Page.
Chirpier Polls For Labour’s Shearer: After a few months of the New Zealand Labour Party wallowing in dismal political polls, suddenly there has been a positive blip… Could it be Kiwis quite liked the way the Party’s leader sacked one of his brightest and most shrewd politicians?
And another take on The Hobbit – An Unexpected Journey. Reviews are beginning to emerge. Some writers say it is pure genius while others are saying the 48 fps 3D makes them feel a bit queezy… And 3News’ Samantha Hayes writes that Barry Humphries’ performance as the Goblin King brings an unhealthy level of disgusting to the role! Apparently he has a swollen Adam’s Apple that looks like a single giant testicle bobbing around his throat region. The movie certainly sounds worth checking out if only to see Barry Humphries up-close and clearer than ever…
